He has two mouths, two noses and two normal eyes. Between them is a larger, non-functioning eye, which "was the first eye to open up when he was two days old so I had a little Cyclops for a while," said his owner, Marty Stevens, who has owned him since a breeder brought him to Tufts Veterinary Clinic to be euthanized when he was a day old, the T&G writes. She was a veterinary nurse at Tufts at the time and offered to take him home.
Frank and Louie Frank and Louie is one cool cat, born in Massachusetts 12 years ago with separate faces and given little chance of surviving beyond a few hours. He actually set the record for longest-living Janus cat -- named for the Roman god with two faces -- back in 2006, when he lived in Ohio.

1. NBC cancelled the new show The Playboy Club after only 3 weeks due to poor ratings. It was too much like porn. No one needed to watch a whole episode. 2. Chris Christie has announced again that he will not run for president in 2012. Guess we can cancel that order for extra suspension supports in the presidential limo. 3. An Italian man is recovering after gouging out his own eyes with his bare hands. Apparently he saw Nancy Grace's nipple-slip on DWTS. 4. After 4 years in an Italian prison, Amanda Knox has finally returned home. Her first question, after landing back in the U.S.... Who's that black guy in the White House? A man was recovering in the hospital Monday after gouging his own eyes out during Mass at a church in northwestern Italy. Aldo Bianchini, 46, who was born in Britain but lives in Italy, tore both his eyes out with his bare hands in front of a 300-strong congregation attending the church of St. Andrea's in Viareggio, on Sunday. Emergency responders said Bianchini was calm and lucid when they arrived at the scene and told them a "voice told him" to rip his eyes out, according to news agency ANSA. He was taken to the Versilia Hospital in Viareggio and his condition was described as very serious but not life threatening. Emergency responders picked up his eyeballs from the floor of the church but they were unable to be replanted. Gino Barbacci, the doctor who treated Bianchini, said it would have taken superhuman strength for a person to gouge their own eyes out and added he had never seen anything like it in 26 years of medical practice. Nestle, one of the world's biggest makers of pet food, said on Friday it had launched the first television commercial designed especially for dogs, using a high-frequency tone to grab their attention. "Dogs' hearing is twice as sharp as humans. They can pick up frequencies which are beyond our range and they are better at differentiating sounds," said Georg Sanders, a nutrition expert at Nestle Purina PetCare in Germany. Nestle asked experts in pet behavior in the United States to research what would appeal to dogs and used the results to create the 23-second commercial for its Beneful dog food brand. The advert, to be screened on Austrian television this week, features a tone similar to a dog whistle, which humans can barely hear, as well as an audible "squeak" like the sound dogs' toys make and a high-pitched "ping." "So delicious, so healthy, so happy," ends the commercial in German, which features a dog pricking up his ears. "The television commercial aims to reach both the pet and the owner, supporting the special one-to-one relationship between them," said Xavier Perez, Brand Manager of Beneful for Europe. 1. Friendly's restaurants are filing for bankruptcy. Worst of all, to cut back on expenses, they've drastically reduced the number of jimmies you can get on your sundae! 2. Australia's Aborigines have been eating witchetty grubs for centuries, but now entomologist Skye Blackburn is breeding edible bugs and selling them to Australians from all walks of life, and as special treats at corporate functions and children's parties. "Eating insects is a fairly new concept," said Blackburn, who runs The Green Scorpion and bug shop, a Sydney-based online venture that sells the creatures for human and animal consumption, as well as for collections. "On Father's Day we sold a lot of gift packs, which included chocolate covered bugs, choc-chip mealworm cookies and flavored lollipops with bugs in the center." A 46-year-old father of three has admitted to court officials that he attacked a teen boy who killed off his "Call of Duty: Black Ops" character. Mark Bradford, of Plymouth, England, became unhinged after his character was murdered, but also because he said the 13-year-old who took the shot called him a name. The two were playing the game over the Internet, and using microphones to talk. Bradford knew where the boy lived, stormed over to his house and grabbed the boy's throat with both hands, according to the youngster's mother, who came to his rescue, says a report in The Mirror. The boy had some scratches, but was unharmed physically. |
